Engineering | Production Engineer

Primary responsibilities:

  • Design and direct the fabrication of support tools.
  • Identifying waste in our manufacturing process and moving to correct or minimize it.
  • Supports new production development processes and product launches.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new tooling and equipment.
  • Provides input regarding equipment modifications or new equipment by utilizing operational and financial data.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning space requirements, equipment layout, and work flow by using lean techniques.
  • Develop initial technical specifications and perform comparative vendor analysis to support the procurement of parts, equipment and machinery.
  • Provide engineering support of CAPA processes.
  • Perform machine requalification as needed.
     

Strategic tasks

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve products, systems, equipment, and processes used in our manufacturing process that will increase production while adhering to customer specifications in a manner that is both economical and cost-effective. 
  • Research and resolve any manufacturing difficulties or inefficiencies to determine root cause.   Make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Conduct safety hazard analysis.
  • Develop, train and promote lean manufacturing initiatives within the company.
  • Prepare capacity analysis and annual review.
  • Drive continuous improvement through P.D.C.A. (Plan-Do-Check-Act).
     

Other tasks:

  • Trains employees on new process, procedures, and equipment. 
  • Create new company controlled documents (SOPs, Guidelines, Process Descriptions, and Forms and Checklists) for new processes, procedures, and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Printing and Packaging Sciences or equivalent degree.
  • 3 years’ experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, 6-sigma, 5S, and other productivity and quality improvement methods.
  • Reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, manuals and manufacturing documents.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of computer knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suites.
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Work activity requires repetitive bending, reaching, walking, stooping, and crouching, lifting, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds.

Operations | Printing Inspection Operators

Your tasks:

In this role you will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining production equipment used in the quality inspection and finishing of printed labels. Our facility operates on a 2 -shift, 10-hour schedule with Fridays mandatory overtime.


Your Qualification:

Applicants must have a high school diploma (or GED) and at least 6 months experience in operating manufacturing equipment. The applicant must be competent in MS Office and other computer programs and be able to communicate well- both verbally and in writing. The operator position requires the employee to stand, reach with arms, kneel and lift 50lbs.


Candidates must be able to:

  • Follow strict test instructions, SOP's and process descriptions
  • Ability to accurately complete all internal and customer documents and records.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A proven record of good attendance and timeliness
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, multi-cultured facility.
  • Mechanical ability to maintain machine, troubleshoot and problem-solve.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, ISO is helpful but not mandatory.

Operations | Press Operator - Flexo/Screen Printing

Your tasks:

The Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a press while adhering to customer specification, quality requirements, company standards, guideline and safety standards. This position is responsible for the overall completion of printing job via the press.

  • Inspection of printed material to ensure the correctness in all areas of color, registration, stock and all other customer specifications.
  • Adjusting and maintaining registration, color, perforations, and other customer specific printing specifications.
  • Observes the press operations to detect any machine or equipment malfunctions and moves to correct the issues.
  • Makes adjustment to all press machine parts and equipment: feeders, grippers, guides, feed wheels, cameras and other machine parts using proper equipment.
  • Carries out the final inspection to ensure the material, ink, plates or screens, cylinders/rollers, tension, and all other necessary customer specifications are correct prior to the start of the running the job.
  • Review and Interpret job specifications and work order instructions, delegates or carries out directions as needed.
  • Ensures all job related data (time and material) are entered into the ERP system.
  • Ensure complete and proper lie clearance has been conducted.
  • Maintain the daily activity production log and all other required documentation for the press and work orders.


Your Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Reading, analyzing and interpreting technical procedures, and manufacturing documents including the system of Graphic specification/Graphic identical/articles.
  • Experience with inks and materials.
  • Experience with handling and proper caring of die cutting tools.
  • Experience with machine set-up
  • Knowledge of cGMP, ISO and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience with UV and water based inks preferred.
  • Experience working with vision system preferred.
  • Working knowledge of quality procedures in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.

Operations | Project & Process Manager

The Project & Process Manager will play a vital role in the growth of Schreiner Group in North America. This role will drive the implementation and manufacturing process of our newest technological advances in production. This is a new role, with plenty of room for project ownership and room for advancement.

We’re looking for a dedicated technical expert, with an Electrical Engineering or Software Development background, to strengthen our RFID production team. As an RFID Technology Specialist, you’ll be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing our measurement and inspection equipment. You'll also ensure our testing tools remain up-to-date and fully compatible with production requirements.
 

Your tasks:

  • Set up, maintain, and calibrate measurement and testing equipment for RFID label production
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with testing systems in both production lines and incoming goods inspection
  • Ensure all device firmware is consistently updated to the latest version
  • Develop and maintain interface programming for testing systems
  • Manage and maintain production server systems
  • Verify that all testing equipment is compatible with the full range of RFID chips in use
  • Collaborate with the parent facility to ensure consistent testing standards across all production sites
  • Support the advancement and continuous improvement of RFID testing technology in manufacturing
  • Perform and document program and system tests
  • Oversee RFID inspection systems used for incoming goods
  • Conduct internal training sessions on RFID systems and technologies
     

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Software Development, or a closely related technical field
  • Strong experience with RFID technologies and testing systems
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering, including sensors, camera systems, web control, and ESD protection
  • Familiarity with firmware updates and system integration

Operations | Plate making & Ink Technician

Schreiner Group LP has a full-time regular position for a Plate making &  Ink Technician. The Plate making & Ink Technician will be an active and integral part of the Production team.


Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and inspecting printing plates and printing screens for production (Flexo plates, flat screens and Rotary screens)
  • Usage of computerized system to load output files into Computer-to-Plate and Computer-to-Screen equipment
  • Retrieving plates, screens and die cutting tools from Archive Storage
  • Mixing/ toning of spot colors and varnishes; mixing of inks for color match
  • Maintains ink recipes in the ERP system as well as preparing color proofs
  • Inventory control of Inks/varnishes in storage through ERP system
  • Assembly of job components (Plates, die cutting tools, inks, documentation) to prepare job for press
  • Perform and assist in the preventive maintenance needed for all plate making equipment (Plate Exposure systems, Washout system, etc.)
  • Control waste by controlling ongoing quality checks during production of films and plates
  • Aid in all trouble shooting for the press which relate to printing plates/ screens, inks or color mismatch


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Degree or higher educational degree
  • 1-5 years' experience within the field of print production
  • Reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, manuals and manufacturing documents
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
  • Intermediate level of compute knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suites

Schreiner ProTech | Junior Product & Process Coordinator

The Product and Process Coordinator is responsible for the optimization of products and the manufacturing processes of goods produced at the Blauvelt facility and works directly with the Product and Process Manager. This position will have direct contact with customers, suppliers and business partners as well as regular interaction with PMP’s located in Germany.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Improvement of existing products and processes.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Sales and Operations Departments to provide status updates on new projects, products, and processes.
  • Supports the Sales Department in bringing new types of products and new processes to market.
  • Develops product requirement specifications for new products and product improvements and prepares functional and technical specifications. Provide technical analysis of product requirements and customer specifications
  • Proposes new product development products and participates in their implementation and costing.
  • Supports the Quality Assurance Manager in the handling and technical analysis of major customer complaints.
  • Drafts Company controlled documents (SOPs, Process Descriptions, etc.) regarding new product or process knowledge.


Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with customers, suppliers, vendors, and business partners to facilitate the development and creation of new products and processes.
  • Continuously optimizes product line and product family.
  • Identifies and reduces redundancies.
  • Works with the Quality Assurance Manager to come up with quality planning standards (PPAP, FMEA, SKP, PP). Initiates and performs quality inspections.
  • Aids the Purchasing Manager in the selection of new material and helps the Operation Manager determine the best processes for new products.
  • Partners with the EHS Manager to review and update all federal agencies permits and certificate requirements, and to ensure compliance (safety regulations).


Other tasks:

  • Establishes, manages, and leads project teams for new products and processes.
  • Manages advanced product quality planning (APQP) and other projects.
  • Conducts both internal and external product training classes.
  • Consolidates and analyzes all available competitor information.
  • Ensures proper machine and equipment calibration and preventive maintenance of critical equipment or machinery is executed in a timely and safe manner.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher educational degrees in Engineering, Packaging, Printing Technologies, or similar discipline.
    • May be replaced with an Associate’s Degree and 2+ years of applicable work experience.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of computer knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S and other productivity and quality improvement methods.
  • Familiarity with safety precautions necessary for a manufacturing environment.
