Ten years ago, Schreiner Group opened a production site of its own in China. Since then, the plant in the Greater Shanghai Metropolitan Area has clearly grown and evolved into a firm component of the company’s structure. As part of the anniversary, CEO Roland Schreiner and Thomas Köberlein, President of the Schreiner ProTech business unit, visited the location and reaffirmed its strategic importance.
Strong Internationalization
During an internal anniversary celebration with the more than 30 employees CEO Roland Schreiner recognized the development of the past decade: “What has been created here in the past ten years impressively shows how successful our internationalization strategy is being implemented.” The plant supplies to both international and local customers from the automotive, general industry, and pharmaceutical markets. Ever since it was established ten years ago, the location has kept growing—not only in terms of customers, employees, and machines but also in terms of the continuous extension of local expertise and structures. Because the space at the original site in Fengpu had reached its limits due to the successful growth a move to Jinshan was on the agenda at the end of 2022—to facilities that are twice as big.
The proximity to the local markets enables short decision channels, fast response times, and detailed understanding of specific customer requirements. “Our presence in Shanghai makes it possible for us to be very close to our customers, to precisely understand their requirements, and to implement them into suitable solutions,” says Jamie Long, General Manager of Schreiner Group (Shanghai) Company Ltd.
Dialog as the Basis
The anniversary is far more than just an opportunity to look back on recent years. That is why, aside from the celebration with the employees, conversations with customers and representatives of the local Chinese administration were on the agenda. Together with government representatives Roland Schreiner and Thomas Köberlein visited the Jinshan industrial park. “Relations with the local administration that are built on trust create the basis for stability and further growth,” emphasizes Thomas Köberlein. Jinshan will remain a central pillar of our international strategy–supported by entrepreneurial continuity, technological expertise, and close dialog with customers and partners.
