The outcome was nothing short of a sensation: three product entries resulting in four awards. Schreiner Group celebrated that success at this year’s FINAT Awards presentation. The high-tech company was recognized particularly for innovations in the forward-thinking technologies of RFID and printed electronics: the Robust RFID-Label from Schreiner MediPharm even received the main award in the overall category of Innovation & Electronic Printing.
The European self-adhesive label industry met for its annual conference in Baveno, Northern Italy—and, finally this year, in person again at the venue. The conference provided the setting for the European association of the self-adhesive label industry (FINAT) to present the awards for the best product entries. For Schreiner Group, the 2022 FINAT Awards were a resounding success. The hidden champion received four awards in total. “With the forward-thinking technologies of RFID and printed electronics, we are a pioneer in the industry,” said CEO Roland Schreiner. “It is a great pleasure for me that these innovations are not only seen in the marketplace but also find such great recognition.”
The Schreiner MediPharm business unit in particular had reason to celebrate tremendous recognition. The Robust RFID-Label was not only awarded first place in the Innovation category but also received the main award in the overall group of Innovation & Electronic Printing. The exceptional feature of this high-tech label is its innovative construction protecting the integrated RFID chip against damage that may, for example, be caused by mechanical stress or impact, ensuring RFID functionality from production through to final use. In addition, the Light-Protection-Label that helps protect light-sensitive medications against UV radiation and blue light received the first-place award in the Pharmaceuticals category.
Moreover, first place in the Electronic Printing category went to the film heater for advanced driver assistance systems from Schreiner ProTech. This electronics-in-film product enables reliable and permanent ice removal from the sensors of camera, Radar and LiDAR systems for driving safety even at sub-zero temperatures. Based on printed electronics, the film heater offers numerous benefits: the functional film is extremely thin and flexible. Using state-of-the-art die cutting and printing technologies, even complex contours with tight tolerances are possible.
