Digital System Architectures for Traffic, Transportation and Identification

Whether for toll collection, access control, or digital vehicle registration: Traffic/transportation and identification systems are increasingly designed as integrated architectures. From March 10 to 13, Intertraffic in Amsterdam, the Schreiner PrinTrust business unit is going to demonstrate how physical marking, RFID technology, and data-based processing can be combined in a consistent system approach.

Schreiner PrinTrust’s trade show presentation will be centered on evolutions of the so-called Third License Plate. RFID-UHF-based variants as well as hybrid versions combining UHF and HF/NFC in one system will be showcased. They make it possible to achieve a variety of use case requirements–from far field data acquisition to near field communication using smartphones or readers.

A key feature of the solutions is the parallel design of a visual and digital inspection. Visual checks and electronic identification are not designed as alternatives but complement each other within the same process logic. That is relevant especially for markets in which inspection processes are being automated step by step but manual inspection steps continue to be anchored due to regulations or organizational conditions.

In addition, Schreiner PrinTrust will be presenting functional evolutions, including tampering detection with enhanced precision, extended options for customized inscriptions, and additional design options on the front and back of identification elements. A special focus is placed on the combination of RFID technology with silver holograms. The current approach enables a completely free design of the hologram regardless of the radio technology used without impairing RFID performance even if the antenna is covered by the silver hologram. As a result, security features and digital authentication are functionally integrated with each other.

At the same trade show booth, DKT as a manufacturer of vehicle license plates and traffic signs contributes its expertise in industrial manufacturing and implementation of standards. DataCollect complements the range to be showcased by software solutions for acquisition, evaluation, and analysis of mobility data. Together, the partners address the interface between physical infrastructure and data-based traffic control.

During the entire duration of the trade show, from March 10 to 13, the experts will be at your disposal for professional discussions and background information in Hall 1, Booth 319.
