Innovation, Quality, Performance and Enthusiasm: 75 Years of Schreiner Group

Entering the 2026 Anniversary Year with Traditional Munich Dance

For 75 years, Schreiner Group has stood for innovation, quality, performance and enthusiasm. What began in 1951 in a small garage has grown into an internationally successful high-tech company. With the traditional dance of the Munich Schäffler (coopers) guild, Schreiner Group has now ceremoniously entered its 2026 anniversary year, deliberately highlighting the connection between historical roots, lived tradition and future-oriented development.

The Schäffler Dance: A Symbol of Confidence and New Beginnings
Every seven years, the Munich Schäffler perform their traditional dance, maintaining a venerable tradition: the circular dance with green-leafed arches is said to have originated in 1517, when it was intended to draw people out of their homes after the plague and bring joy back to the city. It stands for confidence, community and a fresh start toward a promising future. The Schäffler have also been dancing regularly at Schreiner Group for many decades, underlining the family-owned company’s strong ties to the region and its traditions.

“The fact that the Schäffler are opening our anniversary year is particularly fitting for us,” said CEO Roland Schreiner. “The Schäffler Dance connects history with the present while at the same time looking ahead. Over the past 75 years, Schreiner Group has developed into an innovative high-tech company with excellent prospects for the future, without losing sight of its roots.” Today, around 1,300 employees at four locations worldwide generate annual sales of more than EUR 220 million.

From a Garage Business to an International High-Tech Company
Schreiner Group was founded in 1951 by Margarete and Theodor Schreiner in the Munich district of Laim. From an early stage, the company focused on innovation and began producing self-adhesive labels as early as 1961 as a further development of wet-glue labels. In 1974, Helmut Schreiner took over the company from his parents and decisively shaped its successful development for almost 40 years. Many milestones – such as the integration of key additional functions into labels and the move to today’s headquarters in Oberschleißheim – are closely associated with his entrepreneurial leadership.

As Senior Shareholder, Helmut Schreiner continues to be closely involved with Schreiner Group. He states: “Growth was never an end in itself for us. What always mattered was positioning the company for the future – through investments in technologies, long-term thinking and responsibility for our employees and the region.”

An Anniversary Year with Many Highlights
Schreiner Group will celebrate its 2026 anniversary year with a series of activities and events spread throughout the year, which will also be showcased on the company’s social media channels. A first anniversary highlight is coming up soon: on April 25, an open house will take place at the Dorfen site, offering visitors insights into the work and production of Schreiner Group – including the new extension that was opened at the end of 2025.
