On September 1, 2011, Schreiner Group opened a new trading company in Shanghai. The business activities of Schreiner Group (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. are focused on the automotive, electronics and solar industries. The subsidiary in China marks another important step in the internationalization strategy of the medium-sized family-owned company.

Making intralogistics processes leaner and more reliable is Schreiner Group’s motto at this year’s LogiMAT in Stuttgart. From March 13th to 15th the company will be showcasing RFID labels for challenging metallic substrate marking by Schreiner LogiData and the latest security technologies by Schreiner ProSecure focused on the intelligent combination of RFID labels with special security features. These features make it possible for manufacturers to proactively protect the supply chain from counterfeiting.

Schreiner ProTech uses delicately die-cut metal foils in an innovative approach to support the miniaturization trend in the electronics industry. The extremely thin foils perform complex electronic functions. This new production technique makes it possible to manufacture products that can be used for shielding and insulation as well as for thermal or electrical conductivity applications.

Schreiner Group today announced that its current Schreiner ProSecure business unit will start to operate under a new organizational structure on November 15, 2011. In the future, the existing activities will be pursued in a two-pronged approach by the Schreiner ProSecure competence center and the Schreiner PrinTrust business unit. By taking this step, Schreiner Group is intensifying its efforts to clearly align its business activities in terms of “market” and “technology.”

As a specialist for industrial markings and functional assembly components, Schreiner ProTech will showcase its portfolio for the electronics industry at productronica 2011 in Munich from November 15 to 18. It includes self-adhesive labels for application to extremely small areas, miniature venting elements, RFID applications and die-cut conductor paths as well as reliable security features for counterfeiting protection. The innovative products are perfectly tailored to current industry trends such as miniaturization, complexity reduction and process optimization.

A panel of label industry experts has reviewed the nominations for the 2011 Label Industry Global Awards and is pleased to announce the winner of the R. Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award as Helmut F. Schreiner, Executive Manager and Owner of the Schreiner Group. The judging panel convened during the recent FINAT Congress in Sicily and selected Helmut F. Schreiner from a number of high-calibre nominations. The award is sponsored by Avery Dennison.

Schreiner Group entered four specialty label solutions in this year’s competition held by FINAT, the international federation of the self-adhesive label industry. All four product entries were selected for awards.

For convenient reading of the rating data of solar modules, Schreiner ProTech now offers the ((rfid))-FlagTag Solar as an extended version of the power label for solar panels. The proven label has been provided with an additional RFID functionality in collaboration with Schreiner LogiData. It allows convenient reading of the rating data of solar modules on the back of the panels even after installation.

From June 8 to 10, 2011 Schreiner ProTech will showcase marking solutions, functional parts and intelligent RFID labels for lean and reliable production processes of solar modules at Intersolar Europe 2011.

Re-sealable, dirt-repellant, air-permeable: intelligent protective films often have to perform several functions at once. Schreiner ProTech has developed a special solution for a renowned biotech company. It prevents the covers of boxes containing plastic tubes from bursting while being shipped aboard aircraft. The innovative cover also protects the sensitive tubes from dust and dirt.

The 30th international labeling competition sponsored by FINAT saw Schreiner Group win the special “Innovation” award for as much as the eleventh consecutive time. In addition, the company was the winner in the “Security” category and achieved four other awards. FINAT is the global umbrella organization representing manufacturers of self-adhesive labels and related products and services. The awards were presented in Valencia on June 10, 2010.

To strengthen the significance of RFID as one of Schreiner Group’s strategic technologies over the long run and in line with its lean-enterprise strategy, Schreiner Group announced that it will integrate its X-ident technology GmbH subsidiary effective March 1, 2010. x-ident will support all of the Group’s divisions with its specialized expertise as an element of the “Competence Center Schreiner LogiData.”

Special projects pose special challenges to Schreiner Group’s employees and typically require special expertise. A case in point is the challenge of achieving reliable adhesion of a pressure-sensitive adhesive to tricky substrates.

As an international umbrella organization with members from all regions of the world, FINAT invites the industry to participate in a highly prestigious competition every year. 291 entries in 19 categories were considered and rated by an expert judging panel.

In the “2008 Print & Media Awards” competition Schreiner Group was selected as “Label Printer of the Year.”

FINAT, the international label manufacturers’ association, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Naturally, the organization wanted to honor the occasion with a special label.

The company continues to grow, and the new logistics center in Oberschleissheim supports this growth. Visible proof of this is provided by the high-bay warehouse with over 3,600 pallet slots, the ramp capacities, and the production areas for the post-press stage and shipping.

During the “TOP 100” competition Schreiner Group was selected as the “2008 Innovator of the Year.” The high-caliber judging panel was particularly impressed with how successfully and deeply the innovation philosophy is rooted in the company’s culture.
