Schreiner MediPharm Holds Grand Opening in Celebration of First U.S. Facility
BLAUVELT, NY -- Schreiner MediPharm, a Germany-based global provider of specialty pharmaceutical labeling solutions for over 50 years, recently celebrated the grand opening of its first U.S. production facility, Schreiner MediPharm, L.P., 30 miles from New York City, in Blauvelt, New York. About 100 customers, suppliers, employees, local politicians and national trade media attended the event, which was a combination open house/Oktoberfest celebration.
The event began with opening speeches from Roland Schreiner, Global President of Schreiner MediPharm, and Gene Dul, the President of Schreiner MediPharm, L.P. in the U.S.
“This company began in my grandparents’ basement in 1951 and has developed into a global $145 million enterprise with more than 650 employees. But still it was a very big step for us to open a production facility in the U.S., in a new country with a different language and culture,” said Roland Schreiner. “We are very happy that we made this important move though. Thus we are demonstrating our commitment to be here, where so much of the pharmaceutical industry is based. We can now provide our manufacturing expertise, labeling innovations and support to our North American customers directly from an American location.”
A ribbon-cutting with local officials followed, as well as a plant tour of Schreiner MediPharm’s 50,000 square-foot facility featuring a variety of fully validated screen and flexo printing technologies designed to meet the pharmaceutical industry’s most demanding labeling challenges.
In a ceremonial gesture reflective of the company’s Bavarian heritage, Mr. Schreiner tapped a traditional wooden keg of beer to offer a toast to the invited guests. Attendees were then treated to a full course Bavarian buffet, as well as folk music from a Bavarian band.
In addition to Roland Schreiner, several top executives from Schreiner MediPharm’s global headquarters in Munich were on hand for the event.
